Picked up a BP4 out of a 99 Miata to swap into my 91 Miata. Looking forward to the extra torque and power on track. Swap commences in two weeks!

Congrats! Are you sticking with the 99 bottom end or swapping to a 01-05? That seems to be a popular thing to do. Either way, it’s a big upgrade over the NA6 motor. I’ll probably be doing the NA->NB swap in the near future.

Keeping it as-is. I got the engine with all the accessories for next to nothing, i think the only thing I plan on changing are the 01-05 headers.

If you’re using the OEM exhaust manifold from any NA/NB engine, take the opportunity to grind down that weld on the inside of the collector flange. Some or worse than others, but none of them are great leaving the factory.
